2) Brady’s 2 UR a little surprising - would expect him at least to be ranked based on his results and performance.
3) Lewis a 6 or 7? Injury aside - oh ok. No way. Not saying he should necessarily be #1. Although he is 1-0 against Marinelli whom has wrestled just 3 matches this so far this year and Griffiths got worked 7-1 by A Valencia at Pac12 tourney. Valencia has had quite an up and down career with some great wins (including a pin of Marinelli while already beating him on points at the Scuffle a few years ago), but also has some absolute head-scratching losses. Wentzel is probably wrestling the best, navigating the ACC 165 gauntlet at ACCT even though all the matches were razor thin. Smith, Wittlake, Braunagel & Hartman are all quality and watch out for Keegan O’Toole at Missouri. Seeding committee had this injury situation with Nolf a few years ago and believe they basically just ignored his injury and injury defaults. Unfortunately I don’t think it will matter. Have a bad feeling Mekhi won’t be wrestling at NCAAT. Certainly hope to be wrong on that!
4) Bolen at 3/4? Brooks/DePrez/Bolen/Hidlay are tough to distinguish. Keckeisen at UNI is having a great year so far as well (Big12T this weekend). I just don’t like that Bolen is now 3-1 vs. Hidlay with the last match a SV OT loss and now the Bolen body of work is basically being disregarded. Ok I get it is the most recent match and in the ACCT. Coaches had Hidlay above DePrez with the Bolen loss last ranking, curious to see how they have it next time. Brooks will have some tough matches in Big10. Regardless, feels like another Bolen/Hidlay collision at the NCAAT in some round. Bolen needs to generate some offense and get that (first) take down. Hidlay made progress and had a few chances at takedowns - including the winning one - at ACCT.
5) Is it just me - or is Trent Hidlay just annoying. Even though he is part of the Wolfpack, I really respect Hayden Hidlay as a wrestler as well as the way he handles himself. T Hidlay - not.
