Against a typical 1-3-1 yes...
But if you think about it like it is a 1-1-3 those spots arent where you want the ball. For instance, if you were playing against a 2-3 you wouldnt want 2 guys in the corners and a guy at the FT line, because getting the ball to the short corner isnt going to do you much good.
With any zone you have to overflow certain areas and take one of their defenders out of the equation. Beating a defender on a front line can take 2 defenders out of the equation and make it hard to stay in that alignment.
A 2-1-2 alignment would start you at a disadvantage, and rhen beating a defender would make you even...thats not ideal
