A lot of channels will not be able to survive as a pay streaming channel.
I think there will be a lot of channels that revert to free status with commercials paying the bills. These channels will congregate in groups like Pluto TV etc... Better quality and more popular programming will be streamed by the owners, why pay a middleman when you are trying to maximize revenue in an environment where people are no longer paying for channels they don't watch. People will end up paying for a lot fewer channels, but they will get the channels they want. Whether or not this ends up being cheaper than what we had before will depend on peoples viewing habits. People that need all the premium streaming channels will probably end up paying more. People happy with only a handful of select channels will end up paying less. When all the dust settles, most people will probably end up with either a small savings or a small increase from what they would have otherwise paid. Markets tend to always find a way to balance themselves out through change.
