I think that's the way the ACC would like to keep it, especially when it comes to competing against peer schools. The only non ACC member that would make sense adding would be WVU. Having Pitt, VT, UVA, UNC, Duke, and NCState in the heart of the ACC footprint makes the travel really easy. Adding WVU to the mix would add another school in the P5 range to the wrestling mix.

Anyway, with Stanford and Fresno both dropping wrestling, the PAC is going to be desperate to link up with some schools, and it may be easier for the remaining ones to merge with the BigXII. Then they could create a 16 team conference with OreSt, Cal-Bakersfield, Cal Poly, ASU, Utah Valley, Wyoming, Air Force, Northern Colorado, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Iowa State, Northern Iowa, OK, OKSt, Arkansas Little Rock, and WVU. If WVU doesn't want to go that far west, the ACC should take them, and California Baptist can be 16.
