Two ways this “could” go with Texas. They come w/ ND for 16.
If the conference goes to 16 and you play 3 teams in your Quad and 1 other Quad. You still have 5 other games to schedule. Most if not all of the other Power Conference teams in Texas will schedule them in a heart beat, even if not in the same conference. I could even see Texas A&M wanting another ACC SEC cross over game. So I don’t think Texas coming to the ACC keeps them from playing Texas schools or even Oklahoma for that matter every year.
Second don’t think in terms of total teams in the conference, think in terms of total teams in a Quad. It could be 4 or it could be 5. At 5 you are only playing 9 Conference games a year. That still leaves 3 OOC. If it’s 5 in a Quad WVU could easily be one of the new teams.
Third, if ND comes with WVU fine, two football first schools with very good basketball. However if ESPN and Texas want Texas in the ACC, the ACC will take them in three seconds. There is a new Commissioner in town and I doubt Swoff would have turned them down either. Brand wise, Texas and Notre Dame make the ACC 5 star over night. The football/other sports match ups would be amazing!
