I hear Texas would rather be independent than go to the SEC and A&M won’t

let it happen. Just like Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and Kentucky won’t let their rivals in either.

Texas is closer to Notre Dame in their thinking. If they were to move out of the Southwest area for a conference, they want more exposure to people and students. Nothing compares to the ACC in that regard. Many insiders at A&M think they could end up in the ACC. Why? So they can get exposure like the Dallas Cowboys do in the NFC East.

Ask yourself these questions, what kind of ratings would a ND Texas game pull? How many ND alums live in Texas? How many students would ND get from Texas with more exposure? What Conference would allow a team to have their own TV network? On the last one, maybe the time has come where both Texas and Notre Dame where they make more TV money with a conference. It sure is working for the B1G and SEC. Maybe the ACC is willing to go with a hybrid. Expect the unexpected over the next 2-5 years. Some really big “never happens” are going to happen.
