When the cord cutting first began 2 things were in effect.


1) The major streaming services were really cheap. Prices began to go up because a) they were reaching a critical mass of subscribers so they could, b) content providers began to charge more.

2) All the content providers had not begun to do their own streaming yet. Now the 800 lb. gorilla, The Mouse, began to stream it's own content and pulled it product off the major streaming services. Same with CBS and NBC (Peacock). Even PBS is doing the same.
