the loans were actually made by the alumni association and the loan “program” beginning back in the 60’s when the VSAF was located in Alumni Hall along with the Alumni Association folks. Ted Davenport was the VSAF executive director (or the equivalent) back then when it started. The loan program “surfaced” publicly when Dick Schultz was athletic director.

I remember when that hit the street the folks at VT remained very quiet about it.
