NASCAR's mistake was leaving ESPN for more money. ESPN kept racing in the

news seven days a week, and it was easy to locate the races on the TV. When NASCAR went after chasing more money elsewhere, they lost the constant market awareness the ESPN drove all week long.

While I stopped watching NASCAR long ago, I remember not being able to find the race without have to vigorously search for what station, what day, what time to find this weeks race.
