Interesting, since JoPa’s Eastern Conference would have included Maryland

The proposed conference included PSU, Maryland, WVU, Pitt, Temple, Syracuse, Rutgers, and BC. Not sure what level of interest Maryland might have had at that. During the time, maybe they didn’t like being viewed as a “southern” school and joining a northern conference would have appealed to them.
