His dad lives with him in an apartment in BBurg - or at least was at the time of the opt out. There would have been direct risk.

There was additional concern many noted as he didn't play the final 2 games of last season that he was also using the time to nurse injury and work on combine drills for the draft.

Personally, I think its some sort of combination. I also think he will be drafted high, which many players don't want to risk injury - this is an avenue to make that happen. I also don't know if he makes it to the top tier in the league depending on who he goes to. He isn't a super physical corner. He plays press well, but isnt overpowering and sometimes corners have to tackle - he ain't the best.
