I’m not aware that anyone but Bud used that scheme, but it was based on recruiting the right athletes to fit that scheme.

When our recruiting fell off, we started having problems with that scheme and any other scheme.

Bud’s top defenses didn’t have a problem with mobile QB’s and the QB that beat us in the national championship game was an “in the pocket” QB.
