The truth is usually complex.
I’m happy to admit Fuente isn’t a good recruiter. Can you admit that what he has to sell isn’t as shiny and as impressive as what many other programs have to sell? Can you admit that programs with 12 recruiting staff have an undeniable advantage in building and sustaining relationships with a larger swath of recruits?
I don’t understand the need for the answer to be ONE thing. I wish I lived in a world where things were that simple.
If it were true, the Cleveland Browns wouldn’t have sucked for 25 years. Because all those times they fired their coach or drafted a new QB would’ve fixed the simple problem (of wrong coach or wrong QB).
Usually, when an organization is in decline, there are a great many things that need to change in terms of culture, investment, structure, etc.
I don’t understand why it is so hard for some people to see that this decline has been coming for a long time and before Fuente took charge. He wasn’t put in a situation to succeed and he didn’t help himself either. Both things can be (and, in my opinion, are) true.
