Correct - most not familiar with a coach being fired at VT, but..


for us older Hokies - Charlie Coffey, Jimmy Sharpe and Bill Dooley were termination victims.

And, in the case of Dooley for sure - VT had to pass the hat for Bill to go away. Enter in Frank Beamer (nearly fired) and here we are.

So, not usual or routine for sure but 35-40 years back it happened rather frequently.
