I disagree with public art support in general...
I mean, sure, if you want a work of art for the new building or the park, fine. But it's like saying nobody wants your art so the gov should step in and fix that which amounts to possibly backing a particular train of thought or even political angle. And it's not like there isn't a ton of money spent on the arts from tunes on the radio to fashion to even Youtube channels. The author here adds other points including they've picked someone who's already and established winner, the idea was to incubate someone new?
