Either give the new defensive staff

a regular season to recruit.

Or, just fire him. I understand you’re trying to find an affordable solution — but it isn’t a solution. People have to know who is leading the program.

There simply isn’t an easy solution. The truth is that we are woefully behind financially.

Big money donors will need to step up and fund the buyout. Then, VT needs to find a young, energetic coach who can recruit (even if he isn’t the best coach).

We need the AD and the new coach to develop and articulate a vision for the future that includes a team identity and brand that energized the fan base and recruits.

We need an influx of money to expand the recruiting staff and continue facility upgrades.

ALL of this hinges on finding the right up and coming coach who brings energy, passion, and vision that can sell the program

It will be a risk. We don’t have the money to hire Harbaugh when he gets fired or any other big name. It may need to be someone who hasn’t been a head coach.

It might fail. But that’s the only plan I see that has a chance to quickly reboot our program.

None of that works if Fuente is still around co-managing the program.

It’ll be expensive. But you don’t get good for cheap.
