COVID cannot be viewed in a bubble. More restrictions may help reduce the spread of COVID (though they don't seem to be helping much) but the restrictions cause TONS of other problems. Businesses are shutting for good destroying many small business owners' life savings. Kids are not getting immunizations because schools are closed. Folks aren't getting regular health screenings which is causing serious conditions to go undetected. Drug and alcohol abuse are skyrocketing. Suicides are skyrocketing - the military has had more than 10 times as many suicide deaths this year as they have COVID deaths and the suicide rate among the military is up 700% over 2019. Child abuse and other domestic abuse is going undetected - most child abuse is detected/reported by teachers and that is not possible with schools closed. I could go on and on about the collateral damage of these restrictions but I am tired of typing. So we do all of this for a virus that has a 99.92% survival rate for those 49 and under (from the CDC website). The media says 'you have to follow the science'. Guess what? You also have to follow the math! Rant over - going to play golf soon. :)
