I said the same thing day one & got roasted. The Bud thing was emotional and people tend to make decisions off emotion...so I get it. "How could you just fire a VT legend like Bud Foster".... and "Bud should get a shot at HC".... etc.
But I thought the "Bud must stay" condition was bad from the beginning.

I believe Fu did everything he could to appease Foster, the fan base (make him assistant HC, etc). But let's be honest, if retaining Bud wasn't a condition for the job, Fu would have, and should have been able to, bring his own guy(s) in to coach the D.
