With Beamer we seemed to always get some big in-state pickups every year, and his admin had a knack for coaching up 3-stars and getting production, with enough 4-stars and the occasional 5-star to get us a long streak of 10-win seasons.

But in the later Beamer years the exodus out-of-state really accelerated internet helps guys get found much easier these days so key to adapt.

The real problem is our draw of legendary coaches, ACC championships and big bowl games is gone. Competition for great recruits even at 3-star level is intense. And so far this current staff hasn’t shown the ability much yet to get a winning Product like those of us who went thru the Rise of VT years expect.

Sadly I’ve lowered my expectations the only way for me to continue Enjoying Hokie football these days
