For lesser profile sports, the coaches want to see the kid write them not the parent. As a parent, I interacted with the coaches recruiting my kid on campus visits only. My kid was the one sending in the videos, talking to them on the phone and writing them. I would think basketball would be the same way.

I know sometimes the travel or high school coaches do the communicating with the colleges. That is fine too.

We just had a recent basketball transfer whose dad was way too involved in things. I have to think there were red flags during recruiting.
