If he piles up enormous stats with 0 bad games, he may get an invite
He won't win, though. The last 2 decades of Heisman winners, it has nearly entirely been the offensive MVP of a title contender (since '14, playoff contender). The only exceptions to this were RG3, Johnny Manziel, and Lamar Jackson, i.e. guys who were the Harlem Globetrotters of the QB position this side of Vick.
Virginia Tech isn't getting into the playoffs unless they beat Clemson twice; even an ACC title win won't be enough. Your pool of "acceptable" contenders this year is Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Notre Dame, and a fringe shot of either Penn State or Oregon if they play enough games and look absolutely dazzling while doing it.
Since Virginia Tech's not in the club, the only way he's winning the Heisman is in a monster season that also includes some Herculean effort, 500 all-purpose yards in an upset of #1 Clemson kind of thing.
