Why are Fuente and Cornelsen so stubbornly wedded to the QB run?

Herbert is averaging an incredible 10 yards per carry but has only toted the rock 43 times.

Mitchell is averaging 19 yards per catch, Tre is averaging 19 yards per catch, Tayvion 17. Herbert is averaging 23 yards per catch. Combined, they have caught 28 balls.

So all told, our best playmakers have touched the ball 71 times in 3 games, and they are being very productive whether on the ground or through the air.

In that same 3 game stretch, we have run the QB 52 times and the QB position is averaging right around 4 yards per carry.

I just don't get it. This weird fixation with QB runs already cost us a year of Evans, it got JJ beat up, it got both Willis and Hooker beat up, and this year it is taking the ball out of the hands of our best offensive weapons. The excuse used to be that we didn't have good backs, or didn't have a good line. Neither of those is true this year. So what's the deal?
