We went to Montreal in 2012 and 2014. We got grandstand seats both times


It was a unique experience. As you said summer in Montreal is downright pleasant. The locals were complaining about the heat and it was 75 degrees. After the race they also opened up the track for walkers, so I got some tire and carbon fiber bits from Massa and Perez's wreck.

Last two trips have been to Austin. In 2016 we got grandstand seats but in 2018 we sat on Haas hill which was an absolutely excellent place to watch from. I just bought some camping chairs on Amazon and had them shipped to the hotel which came in handy as the ground was saturated from recent rains.
