Reminds me of a story of our repair guy. He was our first friend in VA.

One day, an out of State car limped into his shop accompanied by a State Trooper. The car wasn't acting right on the interstate, would accelerate when gas pedal was pushed and then at a certain speed slow down. The man pulled over and Trooper stopped to see what was wrong. They were at our friend's exit and Trooper was a personal friend of repair guy so made sure the driver got there safely. After a few minutes and a test drive, repair guy said it was the fuel filter. It was all gunked up and over a certain speed was not delivering enough gas so the car was slowing down. He had a very happy man on his way for under $15.
