Here's advice my friend got for court while at ODU. At a Joe Frazier fight

at the Va Beach Dome (remember that?). A cop told him to change seats. HE did, and told the usher the cop was an arse. Usher said "That 'arse" is my husband. Friend was then arrested for disorderly conduct.

I went to court with him. He was in the restroom talking a leak when he asked the guy next to him for advice (guy was in a suit, and said he was a lawyer - as opposed to a suspect).

Billy told him his story, and the lawyer said "if that's the truth, tell that to the judge.

He did, and after the judge asked the cop if it was true. Cop hesitated and didn't answer, but he DID say he almost let him off. THAT confirmed to the judge that the story was true. Case dismissed and cop admonished. First case of the day and the audience was all smiles.

Moral, just tell your son to show up and tell the truth. Judges know what's going on.
