In my opinion.....
the Big Ten commissioner said and did exactly what the commissioner of a cohesive, all sports conference should do in supporting an action voted on by conference members. I see very little downside to his position. If Nebraska walks what has the Big Ten really lost? A great fan base but, little else. Their football program has been largely irrelevant now for going on a quarter century. The TV footprint to the Big Ten network is probably close to a wash with their share of the pie as a full conference member and I doubt many sports, aside from football, will be broken up about foregoing a trip to Lincoln. Nebraska is saying all the right things currently for their fan base but, the reality is that besides going back to the Big 12 to be Texas' little brother no other conference option really exists for them worth giving up Big Ten membership. At least that is how I see it.
