I actually believe Saban’s quote is reasonable


“...Look, players are a lot safer with us than they are running around at home. We have around a 2% positive ratio on our team since the Fourth of July. It's a lot higher than that in society. We act like these guys can't get this unless they play football. They can get it anywhere, whether they're in a bar or just hanging out."

I haven’t seen any argument that proves that players and even coaches aren’t just as safe practicing and playing football. I guess if the players and coaches totally isolated themselves, but do we really believe that is the norm. If the positivity rate in most programs so far was even closer to the general public’s, perhaps it should be shut down. I am all in on taking COVID-19 seriously, I just feel a well controlled football program environment isn’t any more risky.
