The whole college athletics situation has bothered me for a decade. It's an arms race so that grown men can satisfy their egos of winning. The kids are given false hope with praise during the recruitment process and while playing like they are gods. Few of these kids are even pretending to get an education any longer. College tuition costs are out of control for the average kid. Coaches are way over paid. And the fans keep getting asked to support a national championship run. It's semi-pro. The whole situation stinks. Look at how the VT athletic department is bending over backwards to try to "spin" Blacksburg as an amazing place. Yet we all know it was the best decision of our lives. It's just mindblowing that we're so desperate for athletes in this era.
