In a free market, great players make more than average players
In a free market, players can be cut if they underperform, even if they are trying really hard. Nonrenewal of scholarships is very rare now; with full pay, that will change.
If players want a free market, they might have to sacrifice some security. Does the star QB get a better dorm room, food, class selection, etc?
Can a coach cut a kid midway through fall semester if he's not performing? Do they want to pay taxes?
I don't think a free market is what they want. They want all of the existing security, plus a few benefits. [Post edited by lawhokie at 08/03/2020 3:50PM]
