What's often unmentioned but sometimes a factor in the decision making is

the academic aspect. Do you really want to sit in the classroom another semester knowing you are a high draft choice? I believe both Evans and Vick1 didn't go to class the spring after their final football season at VT thus effectively closing off any chance of coming back even if they had a change of heart. I'm sure many other kids have too. Some kids are just not cut out for college and many hang on academically just to maintain athletic eligibility. Nothing wrong with that but it is interesting how often it is left out of the discussion.
