Simply pointing out the risk is not
Of course there's risk involved in everything but in general when a college football player dies it's major news and if it happens because of or during football activities there are usually major liability issues. The odds of a player dying from a heart attack or heat stroke is pretty small as well but it has happened and has resulted in liabilities for the school.
Furthermore, how many players die every year from infectious diseases that could potentially infect others? A player dying in a car accident is a tragedy but it's an accident that could not have been foreseen. A player dying from COVID19 is not really the same thing.
