That's kinda like saying it's sunny outside so I don't get hurricanes...


People tend to draw scientific conclusions based off personal experiences. The issue is there just isn't enough sample size with 6 people to say "I don't get it".

Now, if you knew 100 people that got it, and 2 of them died, and a handful more had really bad lingering symptoms... you might say "I get it".

That said, I do think some media outlets downplay the virus, and other outlets way overplay it. Extreme positions sell papers... but I think a reasonable conclusion is that the virus is real, the virus is killing hundreds of thousands of people, and the virus will kill millions of people if we just resume life as normal. Maybe the economic consequences of shutdown is worse, but it's a reasonable course of action to slow down the spread while they work on better treatments and cures.
