I don't think its so far from the truth. ND desperately needed a place
to park everything other than football. The BIG 10 wasn't allowing it, and the Big 10 schools were generally lowering the frequency of scheduled games against ND anyway.
5 games against ACC opponents, out of 12, isn't much actually. ND has historically already played BC, Pittsburgh, and other ACC schools. We get less than half of their games and every other year, only 2 teams host ND.
It is what it is. My view is that it wasn't that strong of a deal, actually. Not at all. Then again, the ACC doesn't have much leverage or leadership under Swoff so...
