My understandingat least relative to other sports...Correction


You get one redshirt year to use where you take classes and can practice with the team and wrestle unattached. In a shortened season I would expect most if not all freshman to do this.

Another option that might be available is a greyshirt type deal where you don't enroll until Spring or later.
Not sure how a greyshirt year would work for a winter sport, but my guess is you would not be allowed to participate or work out with the team until late-Spring time frame. At first I thought you could take a year of entirely and not participate, but I just read that you have 5 years to finish 4 years. You can't really just take a year off -- but with coronavirus I wonder if NCAA would allow it just this one year.
