Awesome! I'd love to be good enough to be in a band.


I think I probably have more potential as a drummer than as a guitarist, but I've got about 15 extra years on the guitar than on drums, so I've got a lot of catching up to do. I wish I had been able to start playing at a much younger age, but I was always busy playing/practicing sports. There wasn't much priority put on music in our house, and I resisted the few suggestions made about taking piano lessons, but in hindsight, I wish I had put more time into developing musical abilities. That is something that you can enjoy for a lifetime, while many sports are not. I'm on the very tail end of my physical "prime" now, and throwing a baseball or football are activities that are starting to hurt my shoulder after years of abuse, but playing guitar or drums never hurts.
