Got my first guitar at age 12, played acoustic in a band from

1973-77, and never really "knew" how to play the instrument. I could do chords, some picking, some lead stuff and rhythm, but it was intuitive, all self-taught. The other guys who played guitar and knew how were constantly asking me, "WTF's that?"

My guitar still languishes in its hardshell case out in our garage. I open the case maybe once every four or five years and - yep - it's still there.
