It's going to be hard to say Volleyball and Soccer can't play, but football
can. Honestly, the volunteer work outs they are doing now are probably more than they should be doing.
Volleyball should be starting practices before the end of July. Even high schools in Virginia start by the 1st week of August. That's really soon.
I can see all of the Fall sports being pushed to the Spring. Volleyball recruiting is going to take a pretty big hit. Most travel tournaments were cancelled after early/mid March and even Nationals, which should be going on right now, was cancelled. If you push high school volleyball into the Spring, you'll have kids having to pick between travel and high school. That's going to hurt both, but mostly high schools. If you're a top player, you'll get more exposure in travel than in high school. Recruiting is going to be hurt pretty bad too since 6 months of tournaments and camps have all disappeared.
Soccer is a spring sport in Virginia for high schools, so most of their season got cancelled as well. Fall travel for soccer may get pushed back and cancelled as well.
All of this sounds odd, but if you take the money out of football, there's no way they'd be holding work-outs right now.
