It was an example of the overall commitment made by UNC to football.

I was mistaken -- it was actually a $15M donation. All earmarked for football. It seems you want to blame Fuente. I'm suggesting that our relative place in college football and in current recruiting is absolutely consistent with our football finances. Do you disagree with that? Why should VT be uniquely able to out-recruit and out-perform better funded programs? That seems like a silly expectation to have.

So my point is that UNC is investing in better facilities, a very talented coaching staff and recruiting staff, etc.

Looking at this as Fuente versus Mack is terribly myopic. This is about UNC's financial commitment to building a football program versus VT's (lack of) financial commitment to building a football program.

It seems that Fuente's dalliance with Baylor grabbed the attention of the higher ups and they will be adding some very good recruiting staff soon. But it isn't shocking that a program that, in every way, signals to recruits their seriousness about building a winner is recruiting well. Right?
