Maybe grown men should have the balls to make
their own decisions. Don’t hide behind the weak ass “peer pressure” excuse.
Honor all scholarships. Inform players of risks using actual data. Let them decide. Any coach who isn’t a total psychopath will understand that these young men have families, often with health issues, and each player will make his decision based upon what he wants.
At some point, don’t we need to treat people as autonomous and as having agency? It’s so patronizing to treat adults as if they are helpless children who will all be pressured into playing. Players seem to have plenty of opinions and voice. I imagine they’ll express and use them, respectively.
