It wouldn't surprise me that as the hoops program rises, money increases, and we can pay CW more and more, he may be willing to wait to take over the program in 10 years. It's easy for any coach to walk into an ACC program. Even if we're middle of the pack at best, landing a head coaching job in the ACC is essentially the pinnacle position any coach could have. You could make the case that it's better for his career to wait 10 years to take over the helm than to jump ship after 3 years, go to a rebuilding mid-major, struggle, and then try to get back to the ACC. Obviously my bias is to want him staying with us, but he legitimately might not have a better situation outside of Virginia Tech, even if he has to wait longer here vs. getting head coaching experience elsewhere.
