Developing a system in which players who are lower ranked can fit into a system that allows the sum of the program to be greater than its parts.

For some, the emphasis is more defensively on how that system is implemented (UVA) and others, like Mike Young, the emphasis is offensive in nature.

Either emphasis though, cant rely on a traditional way of doing things on the other end of the floor. For UVA, they play a blocker-mover offense and rely on reading screens and clock management. For VT, they run a quasi-pack line defensively, and string out ball screens instead of hedging.
