Why doesn't the ACC allow nonmembers to join for a single sport?


The Big Ten has Johns Hopkins in lacrosse. The Big 12 and PAC 12 have extra members for wrestling. Seems like the ACC is missing a good opportunity to help a sport where it is strong, but vulnerable (if another school drops the sport). If the conference is worried about preserving its academic reputation, it could add Cornell, Lehigh, Bucknell, Princeton, Davidson or the military academies for wrestling only. Seems like they are missing a logical opportunity.
