Not quite the same situations as described by Mandel.


ND was going to a neutral site as part of ongoing series. These games are not a one off, like Vt vs Bama in CFA kickoff.

Also, when Wake or GT is the home team, they may make more money selling more seats in a rented nearby NFL stadium, than playing to smaller capacity on campus. Bama or UGA play to a smaller capacity in an NFL stadium than on campus.

Finally, most kickoff classics have a guarenteed payout. I assume the Wake and GT games are part of NDs ACC contract, so there probably no other payments besides what is in that contract.
