Yes, but most people don't understand that. The only thing Presidents can
do is try to change the price of gas around election time and that only works in some cases. If the price of gas is too high, they can release some of the federal reserve to bring the prices down a bit. That's happened under multiple administrations by both parties, so not a political statement, just an observation. But, that doesn't work if gas is selling as low as it is right now.
Most people think the President has all this power, when really, economically, they have little. They can try to change some regulations to help push the economy a little or try to add additional regulations if that's their agenda. None really do what people think they do for the economy.
