The convention committee has repeatedly (you can look it up) asked
Cooper for health guidelines and has presented a serious array of plans for daily testing/surveys/etcetc of every conceivable venue and aspect of the convention - not just at Spectrum Center. Cooper has pushed back on every request (you can look it up) for the last two weeks to give the committee guidance he feels is correct.
WRT to the elderly demographic - no one has suggested that the most COVID vulnerable would attend every convention business meeting or event.
As both Cooper and our mayor have seen nothing wrong with the nightly large throngs in events of the past seven days across the entire state, and have been seen repeatedly mingling with the crowds and - at least here - even saying "no" to curfews, which common sense governs what degree of jeopardy to the health of the community?
Meanwhile, Milwaukee's proceeding with options (you can look it up), as Charlotte should have been doing all along.
