I will say, one thing that the program needs to do is revive its alumni outreach under Sergio. That is the key to an Olympic Sport at VT having the proper funding to compete with many ACC foes.

The alumni worked together to raise over $75,000 last year, and it took Sergio a couple months to reach out to the Alumni and thank them. We gotta fix that to have sustained giving and contributions to the program.

Similar problems to the Hokie Club and VT overall. And at VT, it;s just necessary for the non-revenue sports to do heavy fundraising on their own to sustain long-term success. Wrestling is a great example. They essentially abandoned the Hokie Cub as their fundraising arm, and transferred that all to the SERTC. Those coaches also work their tails off to get that support, too.
