Baseball is a slowly dying sport, lacrosse is on the rise

A lot of college lacrosse players are from affluent families who are willing to pay full tuition if their kids can play at a school with good academics. As a result, their tuition helps offset a significant chunk of the program costs. It's one of the last sports that I would cut to save money. Men's soccer and baseball are easier cuts. Baseball is a dying sport with high travel costs. Soccer also has high travel costs and low fan interest. Men's swimming and men's track/CC are tougher cuts, because the men and women share coaching staffs. Tennis and golf are too small to move the dial much.
