Culture is 100% the only advantage we can recruit over other schools. We have to keep upgrading our facilities, but we will never outclass the big dogs with money.

I think losing that homely culture is the biggest threat to our athletic department moving forward.

Whit does not exactly exude the “This Is Home” culture within the athletic department walls, but some of that feeling from staff may come because the previous AD was 100% about being family.

We’ve gotta find the right balance of moving forward like a business, but retaining that special family feeling that was so easy to feel with Weaver and Beamer as the two torchbearers of culture within the department. Leadership starts at the top, and I hope Whit can start living out the “This Is Home” mantra with his staff
