Today's Bodie's first trip to our veterinarians. Transfer of records
(that we got from his foster Mom) from two prior vets, overall checkup, nail trim. He has become accustomed to and expectant of his new slimming diet so we're hoping in 12 days that he's lost a nice chunk of his 108 lb. arrival weight.
We've always preferred a dremel for nail trim but chose not to subject Bodie to that this early in his forever home journey.
He had been fed a diet of one can of Alpo (a.m.) and two cups of crap kibble (p.m.) per day. We have used 3.5 cans of Blue Mountain canned food mixed with green beans over the 12 days for his morning meal, and have mixed in his high-Q kibble about 60/40 for his evening repast. Hope he's lost at least 6 lbs.
He is one lively, happy 5-year-old puppy now. We scored large on this boy. This makes three straight adult Labbies we've adopted who did not/do not chew up our stuff (glasses, tv remotes, shoes, etc.). That's got to be a world record for Labbies. Our prior three Labbies were devils if temptations were left in their view.
