Web of technicalities here. ZW's family made a mess of the situation

by signing with this agent and then trying to get out of it based on a couple of legal technicalities:
1) something about NC law pertaining to agents and college athletes that allegedly wasn't met because the agent was in FL and ZW's family from SC
2) argument that ZW still had college eligibility because he could have withdrawn from the draft, thus voiding the contract with this particular agent
The agent is looking for ZW to make some kind of admission of something that would have rendered him ineligible anyway, thus making the technicalities moot since he wouldn't have qualified as a student athlete (#1) and wouldn't have been eligible (#2). The "quickest" way to accomplish that would be to allege that something might have made him ineligible...although that would also have to be proven. The ultimate goal is to get a big settlement check.
Whether the NCAA decides to infer from such a settlement that this and/or other eligibility-related questions were answered in the positive-- and then proceed to expend resources on examining those-- is another story, and we can probably guess what that decision would be.
